The Homestead Economics Course at Unbridled TN is a hands-on homeschool learning experience designed to teach students practical life skills through real work on a working farmstead.

Students learn by doing, developing confidence, responsibility, and real-world skills through activities like animal care, gardening, baking, food preparation, food preservation, textile skills, and small business entrepreneurship. Each month focuses on a new homestead skill that follows the natural rhythms of the seasons.

This program emphasizes character, responsibility, stewardship, and confidence, giving students meaningful opportunities to work with animals, learn practical skills, and connect learning to everyday life.

Program Schedule

  • Fridays | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • August – December (Fall Semester)

  • January – May (Spring Semester)

Students gather weekly on the farm for a structured day that includes skill instruction, hands-on projects, and practical application of homestead skills.

Monthly Skill Focus

Throughout the year, students rotate through core homestead skill areas including:

  • Animal Care

  • Gardening

  • Baking & Meal Preparation

  • Food Preservation

  • Textile Skills

  • Entrepreneurship
