As we move toward nonprofit formation, we are working to grow this farm into a place that can serve more children, families, and members of our community through horses, meaningful work, outdoor experiences, education, and connection.
And building something like this takes a community.
You don't have to know horses. You don't have to be a farmer. You don't need a special skill set to belong here.
If you're willing to show up, get your hands dirty, share what you know, or simply lend a hand, we'd love to have you.

There Is a Place for Everyone
Running a farm takes a surprising number of hands and skills. On any given week, we may be building fences, pulling weeds, caring for horses, preparing for a children's program, clearing trails, painting a building, planting a garden, organizing supplies, or tackling a project we didn't even know we had until that morning.
Volunteer opportunities may include:

Some horse-related volunteer roles require prior experience and/or training with our team, but you do not need horse experience to volunteer at UnbridledTN.
Families Serving Together
Many farm projects are wonderful opportunities for parents and children to work alongside one another, planting a garden, clearing a trail, painting, cleaning, caring for animals, or helping prepare the farm for an upcoming program.
Age and supervision requirements will vary by project, but we will regularly offer opportunities designed specifically with families in mind.
Teens & Students
For teens looking for volunteer hours, hands-on experience, mentorship, or simply an opportunity to do meaningful work, there are countless ways to get involved.
Depending on age and experience, opportunities may include farm projects, animal care, gardening, event preparation, camps, trail work, and assisting with programs.
We believe young people benefit tremendously from being trusted with real work that matters.
More Than Volunteering
Our hope isn't simply to create a list of chores that need to be completed.
We want to cultivate a community of people who take ownership in this place and the people it serves.
Sometimes volunteering may look like spending a Saturday building a fence.
Sometimes it's helping a six-year-old plant her first seed.
Sometimes it's grooming a horse, clearing a trail, organizing a tack room, fixing something that's broken, serving at a camp, or bringing a skill to the farm that we simply don't have.
Every one of those things helps make the larger mission possible.
There is meaningful work here for nearly everyone.

As UnbridledTN moves toward nonprofit formation, we are laying the groundwork for what this farm can become.
Our mission is to cultivate people, purpose, and place through stewardship, meaningful work, and restorative experiences.
Volunteers aren't simply helping us maintain the farm.
You are helping us build the place where that mission can happen.
Ready to Get Involved?
Complete our Volunteer Interest Form and tell us a little about yourself, your availability, and any skills or areas you're interested in.
We'll use our volunteer community to share upcoming work days, program needs, family opportunities, special projects, and ongoing ways to serve.
Youth Volunteer Days give students the opportunity to spend meaningful time at UnbridledTN while learning what it takes to care for horses, animals, and a working farm.
These are hands-on service days. Depending on the needs of the farm, students may help with feeding and watering animals, grooming horses, cleaning and organizing, maintaining pastures and animal areas, gardening, preparing for programs and events, or tackling seasonal farm projects.
Along the way, students gain practical skills while learning responsibility, teamwork, stewardship, and the value of meaningful work.
Volunteer activities will vary each week based on what needs to be done around the farm. Come prepared to work, get dirty, and be part of the team!

-Students who are here for the Friday AM trail ride are welcome to stay after their ride.
Please wear closed-toe shoes or boots, comfortable work clothes, and bring a water bottle. Volunteer days may be adjusted or canceled due to weather or farm needs.
